Low power fix

The truck has seemed a little sluggish lately while towing. Not bad but just not the same power as it has had in the past. On a wild guess I changed the fuel filter. Power has been restored only had about 3000 on the filter, must have got some bad fuel somewhere. Did not ever notice any lack of power when running empty.

The reason I’m posting is to try to help someone else before they develop a real problem. Hope that this helps.

Re:Low power fix

Thanks for being considerate of others and letting us know. What did the filter look like when you removed it? Did it look plugged with a lot gunk stuck to it?

Re:Low power fix

I had a similar problem a while back. I had to change the filter 3 different times before everything stayed normal. I was able to figure out where I got the fuel, so they purchased the last two filters for me. Small mom and pop place. They offered to clean the fuel system, but they were so nice I said no thanks.

They also have great baloney and cheese sandwiches!

Re:Low power fix

The filter did not look real bad, but it was what I would consider dark. Kind of like a tractor filter that was running off road. But there was no visible trash on the outside.
