live and performance of hd shocks[factory]

Hi all after looking at the sad excuse for hd rear suspension ,she doesn't even have factory extra leafs[but nice ride] ,we have added some hellwig 3500lb progessive overloads to the rear now it should handle the 2800 lb pin and leave the front end planted!! Now speaking of the front end how good are the factory hd shocks ,has anybody pulled heavyy with them ,how long can you expect them to last[truck has 18000 miles,I'm second owner she towed before] I'f they are garbage as i suspect[used to be gm man and there stuff was junk] what are good replacements Thanks

Put Bilsteins on her. That is what I am doing as soon as they come up with some part numbers for the 3rd gen 2WD.

Even if you don't tow with it, don't expect the factory shocks to last much longer than 20,000 miles with any real effectiveness. I've got 27,000 on mine and the only reason I haven't replaced them yet is that winter got here and the cold tightened them up a bit .
