LED Trailer light problem.

Ok, I have a new 40' straight deck trailer with LED lights all around. I can plug them in and turn my lights on and they stay lit for maybe 10-20 minutes then they shut off, then maybe I wait an hour and I can turn them back on for the same period of time. When they shut off and I try to turn them back on right away they just flicker then go out again. They will still light up when braking, and turning though. What do I need to look for, and maybe change? Thanks!!! Kinda important cause I haul a lot with it, haven't had to really do anything at night yet anyway.

Haulin's got it....if it were a ground or connection problem, the time interval (IE: cooling down) wouldn't effect - they would either work or not, and then you wiggle a wire, and they come right on, etc. For an interval, it indicates the circuit breaker has tripped and then is cooling, and then will function, and then re-trip. That would be the first place to look. Otherwise, it must be something in the running light circuit, which is different than brake/turn.

LED lights shouldn't draw as much current as regular bulbs, so it seems a bit unusual for a circuit breaker to trip, but it sure sounds like that is what is happening. You might have a partial short in the tail/clearance light circuit on the trailer causing a high current draw.

I would stick an amp meter between the truck and trailer to see how much current draw you have and go from there.
