Switching Trailer tail/stop/turn lights to LED

I have just ordered new LED tail/stop/turn lights for the rear of my fiver rv. Do I hve to be concerend about the flasher in the truck cab? My lights on the truck are stock incandescents and all on the rv are except the new tail lights I'll be swapping. The fiver has a mid marker turn signal light that is incandescent, too. Thanks. PCM

I switched my 2004 Haulmark Edge, over to LED lights 2 years ago. Everything works great, without any problems.....

I switched to LED STTs on my 16' flatdeck and no issues with the trailer or my '06 that I tow it with.

Your fine the only time you need to add the resistors is when you trade out the truck lights to LED, as it will give you a "Light Out" indicator on the dash if drops below the resistance perimeters or a fast / no flash on the blinkers which can be bad on the TICM,,

Don't have a 3rd gen truck, so I don't know the specifics about LEDs and the TIPM. However, I did put LEDs on my gooseneck and it was the smartest thing I've done in awhile. They are much more visible in the daytime to other traffic, I like that. The other thing, they take much less current, so poor grounding isn't as much of an issue (for those who haven't run a seperate ground but rely on the hitch making contact with the ball for ground). Being ****, I ran a seperate ground though. I also like the fact that I should never have to replace a bulb

I found my lights at Tractor Supply. I think I have seen similar sets at Bass Pro and Cabelas.

I just switched all mine to led's too. I did all clear with the correct color led's. All mine are form Rig Matters, I got them from a local chrome shop. I used 2-2" ambers, 5-2" reds, 4-oval reds, and 2-oval ambers. In the end it was about $220.

One thing you do need to watch with the LED's if your in snow country is they do not generate enough heat (due to their low amp draw) to keep the snow melted off of the lens, so stop and clean them periodically if your driving in a blizzard..
