Kelsey Energizer
I know, the question that is back, but I really could not find it anywhere.
On a Kelsey Energizer, which wire is which? Long story short, no trailer brakes unless I use the manual overide, no light on brake box when pedel depressed, and third eye brake light on truck does not work on foot brake, only when manual slide on box is used. Replaced brake switch, fuses, checked wires, tried another brake box out of another truck, same year same problem, any help would be great. Thanks yall

Until you get Acrobat installed, it says:
White - Grounded to metal part of dash or firewall
Blue - Connects to trailer brake wire
Red - Connects to the non-powered wire of the stop light switch
Black - Positive voltage power supply
Lots more info and details in the 15 page .pdf but that's the wiring basics. Hope that helps.

I'm assuming that this is occurring while connected to the trailer. If so, the manual in the link above says that the controller will shut down if it detects a short in the trailer wiring. If the lights on the controller come on when the trailer is disconnected, I'd look at trailer wiring.

Further on the page is this:
NOTE- IN THE AUTOMATIC MODE, THE TRAILER BRAKES ARE ENERGIZED, ONLY WHEN DECELERATION IS DETECTED BY THE PENDULUM SENSOR. WITH THE VEHICLE STANDING STILL, AND THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED, THERE SHOULD BE " NO " OUTPUT TO THE TRAILER BRAKES.
On next page it states, the manual lever will activate the modual lights, and send amperage to the brakes when the vehicle is stationary.
Hope this helps...........Terry
