I am trying to install my Hijacker SL 5th wheel hitch on a 2003 Dodge 2500,went to their web site and found instructions, all went smooth until I tried to "fish" the mounting bolt through an existing frame hole to a hole I drilled for the brackets ,ya right....impossible!!! not sure what the trick is??
Thanks

My dealer had a sigh of relief when I asked him to install my 5th wheel hitch. he mumbled something about the hydro formed rails being a royal pain.....

I have installed Hi-Jacker hitches on my current truck, and on my 05. I got a spring wire from the shop that sold me the hitch. It is just a flexible wire that has the end spiralled so a 1/2" bolt threads onto it. Not sure where they got them from.

Drill the hole, feed the wire in, and feed it down the rail to the nearest hole in the bottom of the frame. Thread the bolt on, and pull it through the hole. Hold it with needle nose pliers, and get the nut on. Make sure you use the proper length bolt, cause once its it the frame rail, you won't easily get it out.

Good luck
