How much T/C can it take?

I have always overloaded my trucks when it comes to hauling a camper. I'm thinking of getting a new camper for my new truck and want to keep it safe this time. What do you think would be a safe weight for my truck?

Weight is dependant on drivers experience and skill.
Than what the truck will carry,

That said, 3k no problem 4k probably ok ( tires )
after that, need to address springs/rims/etc.

And remember : Stopping distance, and downhills......!!!!

The Cummins will get you UP quicker than the Dodge can you down!
