How many upgrades will the stock '06 auto trans hold up to? Is ford's auto trans stronger? My goal is 35"-37" tires, intake & exhaust and probly a programmer.

 

If they can keep a 6.0 running longer maybe we will find out how good the Ford auto is but until then I would just be guessing . The 48RE is a good trans and will take a lot of abuse , many are adding mods to the 5.9 with stock transmissions and having them hold up . From the transmission shops I have talked to they are holding up better than the Allison right now . I just do not see many Ford 6.0's with many miles on them but the ones I do see seem to have little transmission problems so far and with all the other problems they got I hope it stays that way for them .
