I think this 24k superglide might be my answer as it has the most slide i can find in a sliding 5th wheel. My question is. How does it work? For more of those who have them. What makes it slide back so efforlessly and then on the same note what pulls it back forward? I dont want someone thats gonna die on me in a few years or has 50 mechanical parts/gears what not

 

Go to Pullrites Web site and look at the direction for there superglide hitchs. That would be the best way for you to see how it works. Very simple, no big moving parts or gears. It's so simple I could'nt believe it myself when I got mine.

Superglide works great and removes all worries about sharp turns and jack knifing with a short bed. It works on a cam system that is very simple but also very effective. You put an adapter plate on the bottom of your 5er hitch that has a wedge built on it and that turns the Superglide head and the farther you turn the farther it goes back. I think it goes back a total or 14 inches at full movement. Hope this helps. The one thing you have to be aware of is that your 5er can not be hauled by a regular 5th wheel hitch because their head does not turn. Pullrite sells an adapter for about $130 that you can fasten onto your 5er pinbox that changes it back to a regular pin so that any 5th wheel hitch can be used to pull it like if you broke down and had to have the trailer towed in. You will also need it when you leave your 5er for work at a dealership, as most of them do not have anything but regular 5th wheel hitches to move rigs around. I took mine in once before I got the adapter and warned them twice that they could not move the rig with their equipment without doing damage and you guessed it someone did not get the word and damaged the wedge plate so they had to get a new one and replace it before I could get my rig back.
