Hotshot rigs

Hi Guys, I'm in the process ordering new Dodge 4500 and trailer for hotshot work. Wondering if and of you guys are hanging out on this site. Need some input in the biz. I've been in trucking before, hotshot will be new. Owned Dodge diesels for some time. Thanks.

I have not ever been a hotshotter, however a lot of the guys here that comment on these type of threads talk about getting a single axle semi vice a 4500/5500...

Maybe someone will comment up with a little more knowledge.

One of my best friends had a hot shot biz for years until another biz became much more profitable. And yes, a single axle semi any day over a 4500/5500. One example, your at a 3-4 vehicle hauling max with the pickup verse a 6-8 with a semi.

I am new in the hotshot buissness(a year) but i run up down, and aroud the west coast, and i tow with my 3/4 ton (highly modified)airbags, rebuilt performance motor, etc.I have run with a semi, and i really prefer my pickup with the flatbed,or enclosed , if you intend on running with your pickup whether it be 3/4 1 ton or better, make sure you have air bags under the rear end for load leveling,it has saved me on more than one occasion
