hotshot

I want to start my own buisness hauling cars and stuff local here in the Kansas City area, but need some advice. I don't own a hauler yet, I wanted to get more info first. I am aware of the insurance requirements, but need to know about the DOT requirements and how to get me DOT number issued. Can anyone tell me how to charge for my service? There are plenty of opportunities around here for haulers, as there are several manufacturimg plants, a big auction house, and a plenty of used car dealers.

First call that you make might be to your insurance company.
Tell them what you're thinking about doing, and sit down before they give you the quote.

Say there Mostwanted I just started my own car hauling business here in Pa. first thing is to find a broker to get you everything at one place Insurance, ICC# ,Single states registry get it all from one place. They charge about $300 to $500 to do the paper work but it is worth it. your Icc# cost is going to be $300 the DOT# is free an the SSR run from $.50 to about $15.00 per state 's you want to run in.
IF you want send me an E-mail an I'll send you more info an a few agents that I found that do it all . You need a liability policy of $1,000,000 an cargo insurance of $150,000 its not cheap but there is money to be made doing this.
MY E-MAIL boehunter49@aol.com or
litening3carhaul@aol.com
Hope this helps Bob
