Get an insurance quote first... -You need to carry 750K liability if youre going to be a commercial carrier not hazmat. I think.

Then you need to get a USDOT # (free at https://li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov/LIVI...ION.prc_option) If i recall correctly this is only if you are crossing state lines (most likely the case)

-A DOT physical

-a CDL if you're over 26,000# gross

-an MC # ($300 from FMCSA) if you are hauling OTHER peoples property

-You need single states registration for each state that you will be driving through
(or is it picking up in/delivering in?)

-You need a DOT inspection of your vehicle (you need 3 triangles and a 10# ABC fire extinguisher I think)

-A dot log book

-You need a "process agent" whatever that is. When you sign up for your MC# y ou will get about 500 people soliciting you for it.

-You need to write your DBA name "Joe's Hauling or whatever", your MC # and your USDOT # on both sides of your truck readable from someodd feet away.

Not necessarily in that order.... this is all off the top of my head
