Hauling insurance.

I stumbled in to a one time contract deal to Deliver a turbine runner about 1500 miles (from WA to CA), Catch being unlike anything I have pulled before (in the old 57, mostly cars and motors) this would be an actual contract job, and due to the value of the item (approx $200K I would have to be carrying real insurance for it and any possible problems along the way). Currently all I carry is broadform drivers insurance (Im insured, not my vehicals).

Theres enough money in the deal it could just about pay for my truck (and or buy me a new car trailer as the case may be). But Im clueless where to even start looking for proper insurance, or what all I need? I have always wanted to turn hauling in to a side buisness, but have never in the past had a rig that was practical to do so.

The contract would be with my current employer, but as an independent contractor. Clean driving record, but no buisness license etc.

You are looking at $7000-$10000 for cargo and $1 MILLION liability (required)
and you will need ICC contract authority. You can't get this for a short term
and it would take a minimum of 30 days to get legal. CDL required also.

Get caught without it and it's jail time, impounded truck, trailer and load.

BTW
You can't get just cargo insurance and a bond won't work.
