Has anyone imported a truck camper into Canada?

As the title says: has anyone imported a truck camper into Canada? What are the procedures? Are there any specifications that must be met in order to enter Canada? If the unit was originally made in Canada, does it make the import any easier.

Call customs or the boarder and ask. They sould be able to tell you what you should have for paperwork etc.

It's a piece of cake to import. Follow the steps on the RIV website. If it's made in Canada/USA there is no duty, just GST and $300 bucks to RIV. I problably save 5 grand buying down south.

Stay with me on this but I thought that a truck camper ( not having wheels) was not classified as a vehicle and did not require anything special. When I went to the RIV site, I didn't find any listings for truck campers on their acceptable list. Under their "Modification and Inspection " section, the closest I came to truck campers was a "trailer " and that must be "towed or drawn" on the public roadway. They must also have a VIN.
What is your take on all this?

Never read the word camper. I'd just call the RIV and see what they say. Since it doesn't need a plate you might just have to pay GST.
