I would say no. One rental van in Maui where I could not receive a signal with GPS. Not sure why not, but never any other vehicle. My Lance Cab Over Camper sometimes prevents the signal, but only for a minute or two.

There is a company out that makes in-dash replacements for Dodge/Chrysler. Basically takes out the factory radio and replaces it w/touch screen radio+nav. Can't remember but I found it online and was thinking of a purch for a Jeep GC.
let you know if there is a low bridge or tressel on your route before you start.
I just updated by Garmin today on line, took 4hrs.
