Good Dealers in Riverside, CA area ??

My air conditioning compressor has been leaking freon for some time, so took it to the local dealer and he refused to honor the warranty, saying that "it hadn't quit yet." Last week, with my P0216 code setting, and flat power at times, I took it in and told them what you guys had said about the fuel injection pump. Same answer - "you drove it in, so it doesn't need fixing. Besides, I think you've been running power enhancements and that voids your warranty." (I'd pulled the Edge EZ off before taking it in) I'm getting nervous, cause there's only 2,900 miles left on my 100,000 mile extended warranty. They've already told me that at 100,001 miles, I'm done....no recourse.

Does anyone know of a square dealer in the San Bernardino/Riverside/Palm Springs areas who will be a little more accomodating ??

Lar.

It is a little bit of a drive, but try going to Victorville. They are a lot more honest up there and seem to be pretty accomodating. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, take it to Hunter Dodge in Lancaster.

Can't speak for now but a couple of years ago my buddy took his to Frahm Dodge and was denied warranty for a box that was on the truck.

He told them hey wait you put the box on when I bought it ... They honored the warranty and rebuilt the trans...

Can't speak for now though...

OK, thanks all. I think I've got a starting point now, and I appreciate the help. I don't understand a dealer like the one in Cathedral City. Far as I know, warranty work is all re-imbursed/paid by DC, so it's no skin off his a** if he replaces faulty components before they actually fail.....as long as it can be shown that they were fail-ing. Their service writer was actually smug when he told me no dice on the a/c. Haw, haw, gotcha, haw haw....?? Jerk. The thing leaks freon. What else does he need. A couple of years ago, I had a question for their "diesel specialist" and he was openly hostile. What does he think he's gaining ?? I can absolutely guarantee they've lost a customer.

This is the same outfit I went to for a price quote in Jan, '02, when I was shopping for the truck. I drove in on a Sunday morning in a spotless '98 T'Bird, I'm an "older gentleman" and was dressed casual neat........and 5 salesmen standing around the showroom couldn't be bothered talking to me. One finally asked what I wanted; I told him; and he said something like, "oh, probably around $35,000.00 or so," and walked away. Needless to say, he didn't sell me a truck.

That is how I got my truck.. I walked in and was surrounded by about 6 salesmen.. They asked what I wanted and I told them I just wanted to look at the trucks but not going to buy.. They all took off to their little corners but an older guy said hey let me show you where they are and when you are ready to buy come see me.. Said OK.. Saw my truck and asked if he could open the door.. looked inside and said ok let me drive it and you sold it.. Whole decision took less then 15 minutes...

Needless to say then swarm wasn't to happy.

If you want to make the drive to Riverside, I'd try Moss. Stay away from Frahm, their service department sucks, their advisors are clueless and their parts are 10% higher than anywhere else. They "forgot" to tighten the drain plug on my Durango....I found about 2 qts of oil on my garage floor after they changed the oil. After they did the throttle linkage TSB on my truck, I wouldn't let them touch it again.

You might also try Perris Valley, haven't heard much about them but they might be a little closer....south on 215 toward Perris instead of north to Riverside.
