I've heard good things about the guys at Benny Boyd. Have you talked to any of them?

A buddy of mine had his at Bluebonnet a couple of weeks ago for a tranny fluid service and to change fluid in both diffs. He went to pick it up and was presented a bill for over $700.00. Service writer said that since his truck had 30,000 miles, they thought he wanted their 30K service. How's that for a 5 star dealer?

So far, I've had decent service using San Marcos Auto Outlet.

Maxwell Up at 183 and 620 is pretty good. I have been to Southpoint once and will not return...ever. But I have bought a few cars from Maxwell.

I was just about to tell you Maxwell in Taylor. If you need any diesel work, ask for Doyle Lee. He's from Elgin . I've known him for a while and he does real good work.

Well I have used bluebonnet dodge even purchased my truck there no problems and they have been very helpful towards me with any issues ive had. But I can fully assure you if i was presented with a 700 dollar bill cause the dealer assumed I wanted the 30k service I woulda told them to go get MUCKED but with a capital F . Not only is that bad business that is doing service that was not asked for so it should be free since the dealer offered to do it with out asking in my opinion .

WHat do you need the dealer for, warranty work or maintenance??? I use south point/Austin and Maxwell in Taylor. It all depends on your service writer on how screwed you get.

Both. It just seems like the employee turn around is quite large at some of these dealers. I hate taking my big ticket truck in for someting and getting answers that I know are not correct and then have to tell them what I think. I believe some of the techs are good but the writters are pituful. I am a buisness owner and would like to see some kind of caring going into our trucks when we bring them in for repairs. Service I prefer to take to a local franchise type of shop where the guy that runs it has given me more input just on the slightest hint of a question and they give you some idea that they understand you paid alot of money for your vehicle and will take care of it. At the dealers you have to pry what little info the service writter has out of hit mouth. This is not something I would except from any of my subs I use in the building buisness and don't want it for my expensive truck. I think the tech at southpoint knows his stuff but the whole operations is just cracker jack. Who is the service writter you recommend at south point. Thanks for all the dealer opinions as I may be hitting a different dealer next time.
