Generator Mounting in Front of truck?
I have genrac 65LP. According to the manual, it weighs in at 331 lbs. Last Time I put the truck and trailer on the scales I had about 500lbs of front axle capcity left.
I see sled pullers put 500-1000lbs up front and snow plows I'm sure aren't light. So it that to much up front?
Anyone done it?
I figured for safety i would just mount the propane tank in the bed and move it up front when I want to use the generator.
Any legalities to worry about?
I usually camp were there is power but wanting to take some longer trips in the comming years and it would be nice to boondock with some A/C and hot coffee.

Not done the generator on the front thing but I think the weight would be ok. Discussion will follow regarding the physical size of the generator and the air flow blockage to the radiator. Also the splattering of bugs on the gen. Similar to the threads on the front mounted motorcycle carriers.
I'm thinking about a front receiver for general use.
Anyone seen an inverter style quiet DIESEL generator??

Never been stopped by LEO, but lights and airflow are somewhat blocked by the bike. A generator should be a non-issue. I have run this setup in 100+ weather and didn't notice a big enough difference in temp to confirm if it hurts anything.
Too bad you are not close, I have a front hitch that I don't use since that bumper came with one installed.

The Wife and I are DINKs.......Double Income No Kids, so whenever were not working (which is a lot being self employed) we play.
My buddies think I have a rough life as well. Amazing what toys you can accumulate without ex wives and kids scattered all over the country!

There is a hitch/crossbar out there that bolts in place of your tow hooks I've seen, looks pretty neat.
I'd go as low as the top of the intercooler inlet.
