Bolt it then stitch weld the bottom.

I did this on my 20k. I did not trust the bolts alone.

If you read Dodge's stand on welding or ANY modifications of the frame..... They say that any alterations or modifications are the responsibility of the persons making such modifications...

They say nothing about voiding the warranty, but it could be assumed that if the frame failed due to someone's welding or drilling it.... it would be safe to say that Dodge would decline to warranty the failure!

If you read the factory TSB, you'll see they give the specs on how they want it done. (They just won't take responsibiliy for someone else's work.)

Also... if anyone knows the part# for the Reese "no-drill" install kit, could you please post it for everyone? I've tried Reese & they don't seem to know about it, but I keep hearing it so maybe...

Reese sure ought to know the part #. When the shop ordered mine to install it before I picked it up at the dealer, they had to call the dealer back and get the build date off the door pillar so they would order the right kit. Reese needed to know that date in order to provide the right kit.

Ok, fair enough... I just sent Reese an email & I'll post their reply.

When I contacted them a few months ago, they said I had to use their rail kit #30035 AND their rear bracket kit#58186 ... both of which I had to drill holes in my frame to install.

I think it's a strong installation & I'm sure the frame is fine, but I would have rather used a "no-drill" kit if it had been available & will certainly recommend that to friends in the future, if in fact Reese is now selling a no-drill kit!
