There is a nice campground just past Konocti Harbor Resort on clearlake. Went last year. Good family spot. Right on the water. They have jet ski and boat rentals too, as well as full hook ups. We had fun there.

I enjoyed the Humbolt county parks sites, real quiet, after ho7urs sign in drop $2.00 in slot and pick your own camp site, 300 foot redwoods and average campsite was 3/4 acre, I had a 2 man tent and stayed on a bend in the river, absolutely beautifull. Not too far from Mt Shasta( for fun int he snow in summer), or lake siskyou or however ya spell it.

I use to go up to Salt Point quite often. I honestly forgot how to get there it's been so long.

Anyways, they have a nice facility, camp grounds are clean & spacious. Your right on top of the water so if diving or snorkling is your thing you would enjoy that. If any of you abalone dive you can find some big boys down there.

Wrights lake(Hwy 50), Bowman lake (Hwy80), Sly Park(Jenkins resivoir) (Hwy 50), even the backside of Folsom lake is very nice and close too!

Meadow lake in the high lands off of No Hwy 88-89 is beautiful if there is no snow there now.

Wrights lake, Meadow lake and Bowman lake do not allow powerboats, so take your canoe or raft.

Try Annett's Mono Village (www.monovillage.com). It's 14mi. west of Bridgeport in Mono County, but I'll only go there in May or anytime after the first week of September til the middle of November, in the summer there's just to many people.

I'd have to second the Annett's Mono Village on Twin Lakes. It is a favorite of mine.

But if you want to get a little closer, Pinecrest Lake is a good choice. Camping is near the lake. It is up 108 above Sonora.
