Camper & trailer lites

Has anybody installed a plug n play type harness with Modulite box? I need to install that combo on my truck. I am having the TIPM replaced tomorrow and don't want to rune it. I am wanting to haul my 11ft camper and 23ft boat. does anyone have the install? I installed the harness a month ago and have had problems since.

No info? I stopped buy a couple of trailer shops and they said that I don't need it. Is going to fry my new TIPM?

Need more info here Monkey Man..

You installed the harness for the modulite which caused the problem?

Was the truck fine prior to installing the harness?

Does your truck have a stock 7 pin bumper connector and how did you tie into it from the modulite?

How did you power and excite the modulite for TS & TL?

Is this a product that bypasses the TIPM to power the trailer lights?

Yes it is, this is the first "bad review" I've read on it.. I am going to install one on the 08

This is what it looks like:

A pdf of the installation guide is on the right side of the page.

It is not a bad review. I have not installed the Modulite yet or do I have to. I am trying to get the best advise that I can. I have installed the 100 dollar t harness for the camper/Fiver plug and that is what fried the TIPM. I am trying to run the camper in the truck and tow the boat trailer. Couple of trailer shops said that I don't need the Modulite. Are they going to pay for the next TIPM? I am kinda frustrated.

Colo-River-Ram The harness that I installed was for the the seven pin round in the bed of the truck. The modulite has not been installed. Yes the truck was fine prior to the Drawtite seven pin round kit. The truck has the factory round plug on the bumper. I just had the TIPM replace last week and I am kinda paranoid.

With good reason, sounds like the in bed harness may have a short somewhere.. How many of what kinda lights does the in bed camper and boat trailer have on them? Or have you even plugged into the new harness? Did the drawtite harness have the split wire-loom cover like my Valley does? I have had zero problems with my in-bed setup..

These are handy for testing the trailer connectors:

Ok I am ready to buy the modulite. The question that I have is the modulite is only rated for 4.2 AMP,s on the stop/turn. I will be drawing 8 AMPS the camper stop/turn and boat trailer stop/turn. Sounds like I will be over loading the modulite. Any ideas?

Well I did some more research and ended up with the Modulite 119192 ultra. the 4.2 amp rating for the stop/turn is per side. That will work. As for all the clearance lights 25 total = 12.5 amps and the 119192 is rated for 16 amps so all is good I hope. Thanks for every ones input.

Well the Modulite install was a success. I ended up with the 119192 ULTRA.It has the highest amp rating for all the clearance lights for my combination 12.5 total. The camping trip was great with no problems. Thanks every one for the input. This is the first time I have hauled the camper and the boat at the same time with the new truck. Here is a pic.
