Brand of Frame Mounted Truck Camper?
Brand of Frame Mounted Truck Camper?
I was in Ogden Utah this afternoon and saw a very late model Ford (I know) with a frame mounted camper. Maybe it was mounted on a flat bed but the sides of the camper came down to about top of the wheels. It did not look like it was easily removable.
It was color matched to a silver-grey truck, almost a stainless steel look. It was one sweet looking rig. They got on the ramp to the freeway while I was waiting at a light. My only glimpse was as it crossed front of me.
The unique thing was the spare tire was mounted in a recess on the rear of the camper about door **** height on the right side.
Anyone know the make? Maybe is was custom built? But it sure was great looking rig...even on a Ford.
Just curious...thanks!

Okay I did look a the price...WOW.
All EarthRoamer Xpedition Vehicles are sold directly from the factory and are made to order. Typical prices for completed 2009 model year EarthRoamer XV-LTs range from just over $200,000 to approximately $230,000 depending on options chosen and custom work.

I think I will stick with my little toyhauler and just ride my ATV into anywhere the truck can't go pulling it....

And pocket the other $180,000.00 for some other use.

They got that "cute" Jeep for only $69,500. With the tent up you might be able to almost stand up. As tough as Jeeps are you should be able to rock climb by day, find a little overhang, pop the tent and sleep overlooking the valley below. Does it come with the bear or is there an extra charge for that?
Earthroamers are far more than just pricey class C RVs. Take your typical RV that's loaded with crappy systems and upgrade it to the quality of an Earthroamer, and I guarantee you that price you think is so high will look cheap.
Of course Earthroamers are as hardcore as it gets and most people don't need that level. Myself? I'm perfectly happy with my beat-up 1969 Alaskan pop-up.
