I have used Prodigy controllers for years. When I had taken the last one out of my 01 to use in the 04, I thought I would look around for a new one or a different brand. I settled with the Brakesmart and it is the best.

I figured if I spent 50K CAD on my truck, what is a few hundred more for the Brakesmart?
JMHO.

I also found it to work seamlessly with different loads, trailers and number of axles.

It took less then an hour to install and to be honest I thought I was overlooking something and that IT COULD NOT BE THAT EASY for what it does.

I kind of relate this to other things on the market.

Using the stock stereo is enough for most. I prefer to have better sound so I buy something else.

Its like the choice of an ST, SLT and Laramie...budget and preference prevail.

Poor old fishy story soon to come on here Bob might be running a Brakesmart soon.

The one downfall is supply...that can definately dictate what one buys.
I sure can relate to this. Never EVER tell about a product that is in the works...

I've had the Voyager & Prodigy. The Prodigy is fantastic. You never feel it. It just stops perfect. mountains or flat. I pull a 36-foot Hitchhiker Premier with three slides. With the Voyager I was constantly adjusting it.

I used a surge brake and then pick up a brakesmart. Best brake you can get. And that is the question, if you can get it. They are not taking orders they are changing manufactures. The controller uses the pressure in the brake line (ie harder you push on the pedal the pressure goes up) and sends a signal out proportional to the set up you program. Just Sweeeeeet!

Here we go again..... I got my Sure-Pull controller from Summit Racing for about $50.00 and it has worked great for almost 3 years. I had a Prodogy in my last truck but I forgot to pull it out when I traded it in!! All the Bull the dealers give you about the costs involved in getting your trade-in ready for resale, I called the dealer the next morning to come pull it out and they already had it on their lot and someone was looking at it so they wouldn't let me have it back! I didn't even leave their lot until around 8:00pm! Anyways, this controller works about the same as the Prodogy that I had back then. I don't tow that often so I chose not to get the high dollar unit. When you think about it, though, even the high dollar controllers really aren't that much money........

I'm running the Tekonsha Envoy right now and it works great with a 22' car hauler and a 22' HD utility trailer. But, If I have to do it again, will go with the Prodigy.
