Brake Controller Problems

First Off I hope I put this in the correct section, If not sorry.

I am having some problems with my Tekonsha Primus brake controller in my 01 2500. After installing the controller and wiring it up, the display shows .c . According to the manual this is supposed to be displayed when a trailer is hooked up and no brakes are applied. However, I don't have a trailer hooked up.

Any Ideas?

Brand new controller never used.
Brand new factory female connection at hitch.

Thanks In Advance.

Double check your ground. Mine acts up when the ground gets a bit iffy - this is assuming all other connections sound and made as directed.

Have you hooked the trailer up ? What does it show ? Do the brakes activate ?

With the trailer hooked up, you might also be able to determine that the "brand new factory female connection at hitch" is correctly wired. You have a 2001 truck which is six years old - do you mean the factory wiring was never used, or you have had a Dodge plug newly installed ? I have seen some real butcher jobs.

Sorry couldn't be more helpful.
