Brake controller problem

I just got a b&w hitch and voyager controller installed yesterday hooked it up to cattle trailer today and no brakes. Trailer has electric over hydraulic set up that worked fine wednesday with brothers truck and same model controller.

Do you think I have a bad unit or something else?

I don't know anything about electric over hydraulic........but the following suggestions do pertain to electric brakes.................

Are you using a factory installed plug or adapter?

I always install/wire my own 6-pole round plug-ins on my trucks.........alot of times the adapter hooked into the factory RV doesn't work correctly.........

Check your ground............be sure that you have a ground hooked into your truck side................

Good Luck............

I wondered about the ground myself, the actuator on the trailer clicks when the brake is engaged but no output to the wheels or no humming sound as is normal(solenoid buzz). It has a six pin plug in the bed which plugs into the factory harness underneath. also the light on the controller changes color and acts normal. Could be I'm not adjusting it right but it's not rocket science.

I am going to try flatbed tomorrow which has straight electric brakes.
