Advice, please...

Re-posting this from the 'other' forum...

Ok, I'm looking at taking up/taking over a posthole digging business that my father has had for a number of years and I've got a couple questions. I'm looking at an offroad-oriented rig that would need to be towed from site to site. Supposedly, this rig weighs 19.5k. After questioning a few members who tow heavy via PM's, it seems there's no amount of parts I can throw at my old rig (dually rear, flatbed/no bed etc...) to make it ready to safely haul the kind of weigh I'll be dealing with. The obvious choice would be an older tractor which would give me the benefits of air brakes and load handling capacity far beyond what I need--making the safety margin even greater. Having said that, where would I begin to shop for such a truck? My next question is this: would it be possible to safely tow what I'm looking at with an F-550? A cab&chassis with a smoked powerstroke and a 6-speed would be a great platform for my little 5.9 (a-la member Superduty), and it could still double as my daily driver. Also, where would I shop for said truck? Thoughts, comments?
Thanks!
greg

We used to dig our own post-holes; then, we started having our post-holes professionally dug.

Now, we just pre-buy them in bulk and have them trucked in.
