'92 W350 new fifthwheel
I am in the process of getting a new fifthwheel camper. Empty it's about 11K (gross camper weight 15K). The big question is weight on the truck. I have my tools back there maybe 200lbs or so. I also carry a transfer tank with 90 gal of diesel. So I guess a bit under 1K without the camper. Now they say the hitch weight of the camper is 2300lbs bring me to 3300lbs. Now that doesn't include the empty weight of the truck itself on the rear wheels. Is this to much for the truck? I took it out for a test pull and had no problem pulling or stopping it.
Now with a full load of fuel and the tools when I put the camper on the fifthwheel hitch it went down about 2.5 inches measured from the lowered tailgate. With my old camper she went down about one inch.
You guys that haul and have the exp with this stuff do you think I'm ok? I know I will have to go from d to e tires.
It sounds funny I am askin this because I see 3/4 ton trucks doin this all the time.
Oh yea single rear wheel.
watcha think
