7 flatpin to 7 round pin adapter

Occasionally I pull some trailers that have the big round plug, but the pins are round. Does anyone know where I can get an adapter?

I've been to a few RV places who look at me like I'm speaking farsi.

7 or 6?

7 with "spades" is standard for RV
6 with round pins is more standard for light commercial or horse trailers

I have heard of 7 with round pins but never seen them...

Try the some of the rental yards....

United Rentals, Nations Rent, or maybe even a local rental yard.

I've got one of my door pockets filled with various adapters for all of the crazy wagons I've hooked to over the years.

7 round is a standard OTR trailer configuration. Chances are you would have to build this adapter yourself, with two ends and a short wiring pigtail between.

6 Round is a standard equipment trailer plug, and what a pain to get an adapter for, as the adapters never quite seem to match the trailer wiring configuration, and usually end up sending 12V constant power to the brakes.

I have built adapters from 7-RV to 7-OTR before, for people who are pulling their fifth wheel holiday trailer, one run only, with a larger truck. that goes from 7 flat on the trailer, to 7 round on the truck. the other way would be much the same.

Hope that helps to confuse you..... or something like that

Good luck with it

Yeah it's the commercial plug I'm trying to go in to.

I would like to tow this bad boy with brakes, instead of a chase car!!!

They do make the adapters from 7 flat to 7 round, I just saw one the other day at my local trailer supply store. I thought it was odd but now I see the need for it, keep your eyes open you just might find one.

Go to a truck parts store or like a KW or Pete dealership and buy a 7 way plug and cord and install it yourself. It will be better than any adapter available. I'm thinking a plastic adapter might not be strong enough with the tension of the heavy light cord plugged into it.
