5th wheel hitch for mega cab

One of the guys at work was telling me they do not have a slider hitch for the new mega cabs. Anyone have any idea if you can get a slider with the mega cab yet?

I have a reese 16k slider.I am thinking about custom building a new pin box instead. It is a pain worrying about hitting the cab when you are trying to get fuel and in and out of tight places. If you have the money I would suggest the slider that moves aoutomatically....

mega hitch

I dont know about a slider, but I just installed a GN extender from PopUp Hitch and am very pleased. High qualtiy and very functional.I also see that they make 5th wheel extenders that may fit your needs. Up to a nine inch set back(which is what I got). U can view at popup hitch.com. It and a modified B+W 4" set back ball gained me ample clearance.

The bed for the 2006 MegaCab is identical to the bed on all other Dodge crew cab short beds, 2005, 2004, etc. The only change made is the cab itself. I don't think there is any problem with putting a slider in. However, my Hitchhiker came with the extended pin box on it, and I don't have any problem with tight turns. Handles it just as easy as my previous long bed crew cab.

The bed is the same on the MegaCab as it is on a quadCab short box, but I believe that where they each lay on the frame is different, hence the problem.

the frame section around the axles should be the same and should use the same brackets

I have a slider in my truck. It's a Pull Rite Superglide. I took it out of the 04 I had and it bolted right up to the 06. The spacing between the frame rails is the same. I can post a pic if you would like.

I'm sure this is not the only hitch that will work either.
