reciever style air ride hitches?

Anyone have any experiance with one of these? I saw one on the road the other day. The guy was towing a boat trailer with it. I had never seen one for a reciever style hitch before. So I am curious if it is worth the money. I did some research on the www and they are not cheap. But if they do what they say it could be worth it, especially from a driver fatigue stand point as I tow to the Keys at least or twice a year. Two days of at least 12and 6 hrs each.I am beat after that trip, so I am always looking for any advantage. I already use an equalizer hitch that I am very happy with it looks like I can still use my equalizer with the air ride hitch. Not sure if I would need to or if that is overkill or not.

I know they work on a 5th wheel ,, but I really dont think they are worth it. When i am on the road and busy hauling rvs, I put on 150,000 miles a year,, and 1/2 that has a trailer behind me,, each trip is a min of 1,700 miles one way,, so for the few trips you make, i dont think you would notice it that much, but this is just my opinion

Airride will not replace the torsion bars.. if your boat is that heavy , then you would still need them, other wise all your weight would be on the hitch alone

We have a very small company called Rubber Ride Hitches in Alberta, that make both a 5th wheel & bumper pull hitch with a torsion bar.

Word of mouth have them selling ok, apparently great as a bumper pull if you tow a boat or a heavy piece of machinery, but only if you do Not use weight distribution. 5ers love them too.

I was the guinnea pig and we thought I could use them, with the weight distribution, but we failed, and I had a really awfull 2000km long testride. After I came back, did we immobilize mine, so it again functions as a platform hitch.

It is all made out of aluminium too.

Air ride

Kelderman Manufacturing in Oskaloosa IA makes air rides for pick ups that are nice and really help on trailer towing (gn 5er or tag) Had one on my Ford powerstroke and really liked it. It took the sharpness out of the bumps.
