2005 tow-haul button
Thanks, but I hate manual shifting. The fiver is around 8,000 lbs. dry with a maximum capacity of 12,000 which I don't think I'll reach. Have to think this one through before I make a move for January rebates!!

4.10 or 3.73 gear ? No question the 4.10 will make towing easier. My 98.5 has 4.10 gear and I tow a 11,000 lb trailer wary well in overdrive. My truck is stock 215 HP-- 420 LB.torque But the new cummins are 325 HP and 610 torque at the same rpms 2900 for hp and 1600 for torque. My opinion that the new cummins will handle my trailer with the 3.73 easier then my present cummins does with the 4.10. The 3.73 should be great with your 8000lb trailer. Were you going to pull 15000 or up 4.10 would be the choise.
