19.5's

Just wondering if a SRW truck with the 19.5's would handle towing similar to a DRW? I see many of these companies offer the double sidewall 14 ply 19.5 tires, so id think they would be pretty decent in the rear, especially with a 245 70 series.

Any thoughts?

I wouldnt mind going this route rather than a full DRW conversion.

It is hard to replace the dependable stability of that second wheel, even with extra heavy tires.

It would definitely be better than a standard SRW set-up, but nowhere near as stable as duals.

I'll let you know on the ride...I've got a set of Vision Type 81 19.5" wheels, and a set of 285/70R19.5 Yokohama TY303's on the way. I won't be doing too much towing, but I will pull some farm machinery sometime or another, and I don't want to have any trouble! They shouldn't ride too terrible either, but they have a little more sidewall than a 245/70

I won't get them on there for a couple weeks yet...my lift coils are being custom made, and the tires won't fit without them

each from those folks at Sutterfield Stone Works. Two Pallets WILL make

I have 245/70 19.5, Toyo Mud & snow tires on SRW and I pull a 14,000 fiver with out any sway or problems. They are a little stiff when empty, so I keep the hitch in the truck and the tool boxes full and the 60 gallon RDS tank helps. I have had both DRW and SRW with 19.5 tires, I prefer the 19.5 on SRW, easier parking and the wife will drive it without running over curbs and things.
