19.5 inch wheels and tires

;D ;D Before leaving on vacation, I installed 19.5" SRW wheels from Ricksontruck.com along with 245/75R19.5 Bridgestone M724F tires. Those tires are supposed to give great wear. Quite a few people wanted to know how they did, so now, with 2 months and 13,950 miles thru 24 states and 5 Canadian provinces, I can give some feedback. I was amazed at how many people noticed those wheels - especially in farming country - thru the whole trip. They DO look good, and I felt more secure with the load range G tires on my heavy rig. (I carry a 9'10" Lance camper on my SRW 2500) Handling is pretty good, but not quite as stable as with the 285's. Tends to wag its' tail a bit more. Tires started with 21/32" of tread, and wore off 2/32" after 9500 miles, so the mileage claim looks good. They howl pretty loud on the highway, and it got tiresome - real tiresome. Worst thing was in the rain. Almost no traction at all, and I was very glad of the ABS system when stopping downhill in the rain. Looks like those tires will last forever, but be careful in the wet. Lar.
