03 Brake Controller Mounting

Where is everyone mounting their brake controllers in the '03? The dash just angles away toward the footwell with no good plae to tuck it out of the way. Just wondering.

Re:03 Brake Controller Mounting

Found a decent place to hang mine just to the right of the removable dash kick panel under the steering column. Makes it easy to see the indicator light and use the adjustments.

My Prodigy brake controller is on the right hand side of the removeable panel below the steering column. It is out of the way of my knees and easy to access the ***** and read the lights.

100 Proof

I have yet hit it with a foot or leg.

Re:03 Brake Controller Mounting

Mine is below the steering column all the way on the bottom and to the left. My first concern is that my knees would hit it but there is plenty of room and I have yet to hit it.
Unfortunately with this concern in mind I drilled 2 holes in the removeable panel and mounted it at a higher location initially. Fortunately you can't even tell that the holes were there.

I mounted a Tekonsha Envoy on the removable panel left of the steering column. Mounted the controller up high so I can easily reach it with my left hand.

MikeyB

NC Mog,
Mounted mine like the other posts - - on the removable panel below the steering column. Picture is in my album - - about page 10 or 11, FiverBob's White Ghost. If it is a Jordan, perfect place. You might have to check on the Prodigy or others as to the angle. Easy to see and and adjust or hit the panic button if needed.

Re:03 Brake Controller Mounting

well, i guess i`m different. I took the screw(bottom right) holding the lower angeled dash, and replaced it with a longer one. it now holds my brake controller, and dash. its close enuff to reach, to adjust. my leg doesn`t hit it. and i forgot it was there.

my $0.02

Mine is located just in front of the 4/w/d shift lever allmost flat, and still easy to reach, if I need to back it off a little for steep grades on gravel. My drive, and roads on my place.

Re:03 Brake Controller Mounting

Mounted a Tekonsha on the lower right side of the panel. I'm not sure about this location, as I've nicked it a couple of times with my steel toe. This is pretty rare though. While we're on the subject, I was MOST impressed with the ease of hooking up the controller with the tow-package on my 03. Man, there have been some GIANT strides made in this dept.

You will need to click on the number 9, then you will see the number 10 on the next screen. FiverBob's White Ghost. Cute, isn't she?
