Why can't we edit the actual title of our threads?

It would be cool if we could

 

What if you decided to change the title of this thread to "How I Was Abducted By Little Green Men From Mars"?

It would cause confusion to members who were following that thread and would prevent those using the search from finding information that they might need.

 

Well, the thread in question is the "Chris Benoit" thread in Off-Topic...

I found out he killed his son and wife, so I'm not too happy with letting him rest in peace.

 

I'll change the title.

 

I'd just like to be able to change the title when I accidentally spell something wrong, switch a few letters around, know what i mean .
