I haven't seen any issue like that before. I login from the front page all the time. What browser are you using? I would suggest clearing your cache, your cookies and then trying again after restarting your browser.

I am with earthlink.net, I use internet explorer, I guess that it is the newest version, I just had my stuff updated to use a faster DSL connection. Embarq (used to be sprint) is who I get the internet through. I can sign in when I want to post, but not at the main page. This is at my computer at home, I use Bit Defender for virus, and other securities.

With vBulletin, a cookie is stored on your machine if you select "Remember Me" when you log in. This allows you to stay logged in to the site and not have to provide your login information when you visit again.

The most common issues for vBulletin not allowing a login are:

Corrupt cookie
Security settings to high
AJAX corruption
Firewall settings

Easiest things to do first is: Press CTRL-F5, then clear all cookies and cache. Attempt to log in again. If this doesn't work, check your security settings in your browser. Medium is fine for most websites and should allow you to store your login cookie on your machine. Last but not least, check your firewall settings. Sometimes an update to your machine will cause issues with your firewall (remember, XP has a built in firewall, too) and you'll need to modify your settings. Me? I turned that hunk of junk off as I use Kerio. At least until I get my Smoothwall firewall back up.

We're also finding some plugins for Firefox are causing issues with vBulletin logins as well. The Cookie Culler addon has caused issues in the past with some of our membership.

since I started this.--------- I use firefox. It kept coming up with the message server must be added to the white list or something like that. I couldn't get it to work until I deleted the web site from my favorites and remarked it. works fine now.

Ok here is the message that I got again, I just copied and pasted it.
"In order to accept POST request originating from this domain, the admin must add this domain to the whitelist." . I can still log in when I want to post though.

What does the URL say on your browser when you get this error? If you are omitting the www from the URL, you most likely will get this error message.

I don't know if this helps or not. At home I'm always logged on but when I go to my parents house on try to log on I have to go to a different page.
I have not tried logging out at home and logging in on the front page at my parents house yet.
Maybe staying logged on at one place wont let you log on the front page at another??
