Larger search button

With all the reacurring post that seems to happen daily. I would think it would be benificial to the DTR servers to have a larger more accessable "search" button. I am guilty myself and I frequently dont see of forget that little thing exist. This is not a rant just something I've noticed that may help

Not really sure what you mean. The search link has been the same for 8 years now. It's not really a button, but just text in a menu that is of like size.

Exactly^^^

I just think it would help if the search button were more noticable to the new guys. I keep seeing the same threads over and over. Example, the Dodge with the fver hitting the bank threads and the "whos got the better tranny threads". If members would just do a simple "search" it would help ease the severs from the same repeating threads and post. I quess what I'm trying to say is make the search button more noticeable. I hope this makes since

Again, not a rant just a suggestion. Possibly a stupid one

I use the search function often, but I goofed on the dodge/fiver/bank thing myself.

I just don't like to dig up old threads too much cuz you always get the dreaded "this is an old thread why are you digging it up" posts.

No...nothing stupid about it. We appreciate all the suggestions we receive

Some we are able to implement and some we are not, but making things better for all of us is NEVER a stupid idea

I'm sure this something that can not be implemented. Its frustrating seeing all the repost that could have been avoided with just a simple search. Maybe its just me.

Go into the search page by using advanced search and then try to use the google search tool there. I'm curious if this helps you in any way. It's been there for a long time but I don't know how many people use it.

I can't really make the search link bigger but I can work on its functionality. I understand where you're coming from seeing the same things over and over. A lot of people aren't internet savvy and don't know how to use any search tool for that matter. When it comes to those new members, I tend to leave it alone because we were there once too. I remember asking a lot of questions that I couldn't find with the search tool on other sites before I started this one.

I have no problem using the search option. I too remember being the new guy.. Heck I think my first post was in the middle of somebodys thread that had nothing to do with my question. I just thought maybe making the search button stand out from the other items would maybe help.

Thanks for your reponse Jack

Regards,
Eric
