6 button or 12 button dual disk?

I'm going to buy a SB dual disk soon, either a 3600# or 3850# plate load, not sure yet. I'm trying to decide on a 6CB or 12CB. How do the two compare as far as grabbiness? What other differences are there between the two? Also, aside from pedal pressure, how do the two plate loads compare as far as drivability? I'd appreciate any info from anyone who has experience with either pressure plate or button configuration. Thanks.

I've got a 3600# 6 CB in my dually, and 3250# 12 cb in my 12v. Both drive about the same. Grabiness is about the same as stock once they get broken in. If they become grabby after that (which mine do occasionally), just slip the clutch fairly hard (3rd gear launch like) and it will smooth right up. I think the 6 CB shifts just a bit quicker than the 12 CB, but thats what it was designed for. They say the 6 is for racing, the 12 is for pulling. I have an old style 3600 pressure plate, the pressure is much higher than factory. But from what J Lent has been saying, the new ones are a much softer pedal. No experience with the 3850# plates.

Daily driver?

Ought to consider a 3250 DD - it'll last longer and still be good for 800HP+ (holding almost 950 on a truck down here).

First question. What are you gonna be doing with the truck? For daily driving & racing, a 6cb will shift fastest as mentioned. The 12cb is slightly slower, but will be stronger for sled pulling. As far as pressure plate, I would normally recommend a 3250#, but after driving both....3600# would be my choice. My 3250 had a warped floater after sled pulling a few times. The 3250 isn't heavy enough for pulling unless you plan to baby your truck out the hole. I know a guy who has 30+ hooks on a 3600# 12cb.

My truck is a daily driver, and sees some towing. The only reason I hadn't considered a 3250 is because there is a chance that I will hook to a sled in the future. I think I'm leaning toward a 3600 6cb as I'm hearing everyone say that it shifts a bit faster than a 12cb. I don't think I'll ever drag race, but I do like to horse around every now and then. Power wise I plan on being around 500hp or maybe slightly above. Do ya'll think this is the right clutch for me?

A friend has a Valair 3850# (6 button) in his 5 speed, and it is a little too grabby when taking off for my taste. But he has 35" tires and 3.55 gears and his clutch has a solid hub. I'm hoping that with my 4.10s and with a sprung hub clutch that engagement won't be as rough as his truck. Sound logical?
Let me know your opinions and thanks for the responses.

I would get a 3600# 12cb if you plan on pulling in the future.
