Post Did I do something wrong?

Administrators,
What happened? I was responding to a thread and when I click on the link I got this, I responded through the Quote Tab.

It appears that the entire thread was deleted.

Did I do something wrong?

It acts like I was trying to Edit THEIR post.

Jim Lane, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

That thread was moved to a non-public area of the site due to one member's questions regarding using a non-approved (and dangerous) substitue for r134a.

Shovelhead

Thanks I understand why it would have been moved but I do not understand why I received the message that I did, It would have been a bit more humane to take you back to the thread and tag it CLOSED with an explanation of why.

I played with it for about 20 minuets trying to figure out if I did something wrong.

But now I know why. Thanks for clarifying it.
Jim

BTW where is a non-public area located, anywhere in the vicinity of an undisclosed location?

The reason you were directed around like that and saw that message is because the Admin that moved it forgot to remove the redirect when he sent that silly thread into the black hole.

Since you do not have Admin capabilities here, instead of being directed to that thread you were given a message generated by the software in an attempt to give you a reason why you could not view it.

That message comes with the forum software and no one was trying to accuse you of editing another persons post. It was merely intended to point out possible errors so that you might be able to work around the issue. The error was on our end, but unfortunately the software is not equipped to make that determination.... thus the cryptic message.

We are not at liberty to release that information.

Don't worry,.....you can't get there from here.

And Lary's just pullin' yer leg.
He was watching you the whole time in the "Matrix" trying to work your way through the "Grid".

Man that thing looks creepy looking back at me, now I am going to start hanging a towel over my monitor when I am not on my computer.

Sorry I wasn't insinuating that you were accusing me of trying to edit someone else’s post, I was saying that is the message I get if I accidentally click on the Edit tab of someone else’s post.
