Delete post?

Quick question here on deleting post,, I know back in the day i use to delete a post if it was a question i had, and got answered somewhere else and the thread wasnt huge, , Or delete my input into other threads. But when i tried to do that the other day it told me i didnt have the privliges to do that? So if they have been taken away why do we still have the option on the edit post area?

If you started a thread and somebody replied, you can no longer delete that original post. You can still delete a response.

Deleting posts once they have answered really plays havoc with the search engine, thats why we don't allow you to do that.

If a question is answered, you probably shouldn't delete the post. Someone may need the answer. If you delete it, they couldn't find it in a search.
