Smile Classified and Photo sections

I was thinking it would be nice if .. when someone has a classified ad or pictures on there link they would show up in a different color that way when we are scrolling through the items we can see they have either something to sell or some photos to look at ...... what do you think?

Unfortunately, that is much more difficult than you can imagine. A bunch of DB queries have to be added, and it slows down the server to do so. That means that when you would bring up a thread, EVERY user who posted on that thread would have to be checked, then information brought onto the link depending on the result of each query. I can see it adding 50 or more queries to bring up a page. Believe me, I would love to do it, but it's not in the cards right now.

I see if someone is running a ad or photos they can change the link color to show they are? Only thing is everybody needs to know how to change that color from blue to ? Correct. You know the place I am talking about is under our name and information on the left where it says Member's Photo Gallery and My Classified Ads! .... when running something it will show another color. Sorry I am not the geek type don't know what it takes to do this as you know everything looks easy when you don't have to do it

It's not a matter of just changing the color. It's a matter that every time a page is loaded with your profile like that, the system needs to query whether or not you have active photos or an active classified ad before changing the link color. Once it knows, then it would change. The problem is that it's not an easy task. I'm sorry, but it just isn't. There is nothing I can do right now without making major code changes on the system. YOU guy can't change that link because that link is there as embedded php code.

No need to be sorry. Most people don't know, so you're in the norm. I want to do it too, but I just have to go through the list of changes as I get time.
