Angry ? for the admins

just wondering why dr wiggs thread was locked out, the optimus one. sure he is trying to sell the truck and all but from what i can see no one was going to fork down 100k for it and wiggs never even put up a price, all i see was guys who are living vicariously threw some other dudes wallet. and i pay 4 bucks a pop for a mag to do that. just my .02 cents.

and hey boys (admin) dont take this as a hit like i said before i like how you keep the brand wars and bs down in comp to other sites where its nothing but dudes swearing at each other and saying there parts are better and so on. i just truly did not see anything wiggs or others were doing wrong in that thread.

In general, (not to be specific to D. Wiggs), if there is a for sale anything, we lock it down. The reason for this it that we have paying advertisers here that support the DTR, and if we allow members to advertise on an open forum, then they are getting for free what the advertisers pay money for.

That's why we have the classifieds for the regular members.

Usually, there is more to the story than what is just on the forums in a thread. This is another general statement, so don't try to use this out of context.

Something else that I have personally seen here as an admin, if we let one person do something, and shut someone else down for the same thing, then the person that we shut down goes off the deep end and gets all bent out of shape over it. So... we try to be as fair as possible and treat everyone the same way.

Again, these are general statements....

The biggest issue here is the fact that we try VERY hard to keep the forums free of ads and flea market items so everyone can find the information that we all come here for.

We created the classifieds for you guys to sell your used items so that stuff does not clutter up the forums and frankly you get better coverage there if you are trying to sell anyway.

Believe me when I tell you that the guys here would have this place looking like a flea market in less than a week if we did not stay on top of it. If that were the case you would NEVER be able to wade through all the junk just to find a cure for the problem you may be experiencing with your truck.

Keeping that stuff off the forum is for your benefit and everyone else that comes here looking for an information resource. You guys can still ask him questions in the classifieds, via the comments section of his ad.

It is free members but Vendors (businesses) can not use it as a store front.

You would be amazed how many guys that own little diesel performance shops get bent out of shape because I won't let them sell their products in the classifieds.

That, and when I go on other sites, it's like every 3rd post is a FOR SALE.... Makes it hard to find info.

Many Thanks

I would like to thank Larry, madhat and the other admins for keeping this site focused and clean. It makes it enjoyable to follow the different discussions without having to filter through all of the stuff that other boards allow. Keep up the work. It is appreciated.
