Added a "Users Today" Feature

I have been considering putting a modification on the site that would show all of the users who have visited the forum within the last 24 hours. I haven't done it for a while because I thought it would be too much, but today I put it up and I'm posting this poll to get your thoughts. What it does is show all of the registered users who have visited the forum. It doesn't show guests, spiders or anything else, just people who have logged in. I'm noticing that the list on the forum home is a bit long so I may just trim it down to show the number of people vs. a whole list. I'd like your thoughts on the feature. If you guys like it, we'll keep it. If not, it takes me about 2 seconds to turn it off.

I would rather see the number of users instead of the whole list. I think the whole list is just a bit to long....

I'm leaning in the same direction as you are. It does seem a bit long.

I agree, and personally I use the 'whos online' feature if Im trying to find someone that is online, but have seldom looked for a member that 'was' online. My 2cents!

Ok, this is good feedback. I tried something else here. This time, I made it so the feature is still active but I collapsed the name list. Soooooooo, if you WANT to view the names, you can uncollapse that category if you so choose. Let me know what you think now. Better? Still useless?

I think it is great this way. It is nice sometimes to be able to see who has been online recently, but without having to put up with the whole list all of the time. I hope you leave it this way.

Whats a "Spider"?

I voted "no". Nothing personal against it, if I want to see who is on, or when they were last on I just look up their profile.

For future reference, I am on here just about EVERY day. Not rain, sleet or snow keeps me away.

Hey Jack,
Would it be possible to make the Recent Photos and Featured Ads thumbs collapsed as the default? And if so,,,,, what would the members think?
