'98 Ford

In the Ford Truck part of the forum there are forums for '94 -'97 7.3L PSDs and '99 - '02 7.3L PSDs but nothing for the 1998 7.3L PSD ??? Should it be with the 94 - 97 or the 99 = 02? Or is it in a class all by itself? My son has a '98 and thinks it surely must be in a class of it's own. ;D

Stan

Re:'98 Ford

Now if it was a '98 Dodge, they'd be all over it on the new Dodge, Ford, GM Diesel site. ???

Dennis, why don't you quietly PM a moderator(s) of the Ford group and ask?

I would certainly "hope" that they would know. It would seem to me to be a requirement.

If I get a chance later, I'll go pose this question at the deiselstop. It'd prob take a nanosecond for someone there to give a helping hand.

TGIF!

Re:'98 Ford

Hmmm, maybe a Ford guy will chime in here, but didn't they change body styles in '98 and "badged" them as '99's?

With some superficial browsing, I see where some guys have '99s with a build date of 2/98.

Re:'98 Ford

Body style is basically the same as the '94. I'm doing some checking on this.

I'm trying to learn something here, so please be kind with your replies.
Thought Dennis knew everything about everything, and I wouldn't have to look any further.

Re:'98 Ford

There was a lull of a few months in production for the newer style superduties, and the 99's were introduced very early in 98. Old body styles and configurations were still offered and rolled out of the 97' inventory from the plants and other dealerships, but all new special orders were taken for the new body style in 98. I believe It was a pretty big retooling change for most of the ford truck plants. My 99 has a build date of 11/26/98 but was ordered 8/98. In short you could by a new 97' or 99' in 1998. :-
