Should there be any play where the pin is in hole in knuckle.

 

Mine did and some guys on the Cummins Forum site sourced some nylon bushings that tap into that space eliminating the slop. You then tighten a hose clamp around the area to keep them from wiggling out. I'll try and find the article. They can be had at Graingers with the right part #.

If you would, please give the dimensions of the nylon bushings.
With that info should be able to source them at either Grainger or McMaster Carr.

 

The bushings I saw and read about were nothing more than 3/8 ID nylon tube , sourced at local Ace Hardware . Cut to proper length and install a hose clamp or large cable tie to keep them installed in place . Pretty simple fix that works
