Good morning folks. Got a fresh pot brewing and recycled the old stuff through the silver bullet for those who like to chew their coffee.

40kt winds have got the dust so thick in the air it's hard to breath and looks foggy. Where I grew up fog was heavy water vapor, apparently here it's got chunks, kinda like the coffee I recycled

Morning all,

Spent the evening watching O stammer through his pre-emptive excuse speech, and then a couple hours debriefing with my family and friends on the phone. I don't believe I have ever seen anything so transparent as that guy in my lifetime.

But, on a happier note ..... the coffee is excellent this morning and the donuts were crawling slower than usual ... a sure sign they are full of some kind of goodie !!

Ya'll keep it rubber side up and keep smiling !!

Good morning.

 

Evenin... evenin.

Just got back from chow... but I'll get to that in a minute. I want to rewind a few hours...

So, me being a prior hat and being a somewhat squared away Marine, I'm often asked to do certain things... drill, ceremonies, meritorious boards, you know... well, today I had a board that I was a member of. Long story short, I started at 1200, and the end of the board was around 1700. Right at the end, while we were briefing Marines, one of them took a nose dive and planted her chin right on the deck... hard. Being a person that has dealt with stuff like this before, I start barking out orders, while another Marine of my same demeanor is doing the same thing. End state, a few stitches and some motrin, and she'll be fine. It happens... Sucks, tho.

So, me and this Marine, the same one that got the bronze star yesterday, go PT, and then go to chow. We went with a few friends, one who is married to a Japanese lady. She takes us to this resturaunt where you have to speak to eat. Awesome. I'm gonna post some pics shortly in the Japan thread.

Anyhow, great night. I've got some clothes going in the dryer, and then I'm out for the night.

Hope everyone's day was as fulfilling as mine...

I don't want to steal your thunder but I'm currently waiting to ambush the garbage guys. They have skipped us the last two times they've been by. I have great cover below the windows and I've turned the monitor around and have a picture of some cool urban camouflage running on the screen saver. Sorry you're in Japan hat, this would really round out your day.

 

Man, I wish I was there to provide some cover fire!!

Thanks Cin for the goodies. I'm not so sure about the protien shake though. Eric is wondering if the old donuts were used to make the protien shakes.

 

Mornin gang, sick and still have to work my part time. Hopefully I can bail out around 13:00 or so and come home to rest.
