The new and unapproved break room 8-Feb-09, 15-Feb-09

I have yet to start one so I see this as an opportunity to sneak in under the radar and brew up some real mean stuff.

Come on in, 4 fresh pots made at the station right now, strained through an old used dirty fuel filter, so it should be an improvement. Muffins are stale, and there is only one donut with sprinkles, (it's for top), all the rest have finger holes in them from me seeing what kind they are.

Grand daughters first birthday today, it ought to be fun!

Have a great day everyone,

Tim

. Just had a physical this week. BP is 98/66 HR is 58. Good Cholesterol is high and bad is low. With these results and turning 47 in May, I feel that the time is now to shed the weight as opposed to waiting for some big problem with my health to show up to motivate me.
I've never made it over 300. Biggest I ever got was 298. That was a bit much and I dropped a bunch. I decided that I wanted in the Coast guard and worked hard towards that goal. Went from 298 down to 212 in about 6 months. All diet and exercise. (more of one amnd less of the other ) Went to MEPS and they told me 4 more pounds to go. I missed the tape by 1/2" as well. After a bit more work I got down to 208 and called them up and they said 200 was what I needed to get to. I told them to pound sand. I needed to eat something. I haddn't seen 200 since I was in 6th grade.

I backed off on the regimen and cruised up to 225-230 and stayed there for quite a while. Then I changed jobs and had to go back to school for a bit that made me more sedintary than normal and I went up 10 pounds. 3years later had a shoulder overhaul and found another 20. 1 year later knee repair and another 15.

Now I'm 32 and Way over weight for my own good and I'm going to get back down. It's just harder this time. Last time I dropped I was single and had lot's of time on my hands to work it. Now I'm married with children and there aren't enough days in the week. And things hurt more than they did before.

The good news is Blood work is all normal and My BP is near perfect. So there is hope for me yet......

Ya'll have a good night. I'll be around til the AM.

Been dealing with drunks all night. thank God I am ought a here in a few more hours. Snow banks 4-6' high on the street corners, cars parked on both sides of the street and I have to shoe horn a 75k# ladder truck down them. Wish I had a tank like that guy in California.

If it's new and unapproved, I've got to stop in and say "hi".

hat, you managed to get any real saki yet? You'll have to let me know how that works out for you.

ofcmarc, I remember those spurts of absolutely senseless crime, or the 15 DUI weekends that popped up for no reason. You do a job I could never handle. I suspect everybody I talk to on the job is a criminal, you know it.

jbjarko, in about 57 days I too will be howling at the moon. Of course, I'll have to get cleaned-up and look presentable for the rest of the trip home. Can't get off the plane and see momma and the kids for the first time an half a year looking like I was out partying the night before

Hvytrkmech, I appreciate your work my friend. I never much cared for narrow streets, and driving in this Godforsaken country has increased my dislike. I don't know how you guys can drive a 100' long truck on a freeway, much less through city streets. Yet another skillset (and stress level) I don't want to attain

Time to grab the coffee, poke a donut (don't really like coconut cream, so I'll leave it) and make a break for the chow hall. Here's hoping for something more edible than the grilled cheese I've been living on since the contract changed companies.

I have, it was pretty good... I've had it hot before, did not like it too much. I had it in a drink that had water, mint leaves, lime, and something else... pretty tasty...

Just got back from a little run... pretty good. Legs are sore, but that's good too..

Good morning world. I say 'world' 'cuz we have folks here from all over the globe.

It's just getting light here and should be seeing the sun waking up in a few minutes. From what I can see so far, it is going to be another beauuutiful cloudless day here in Paradise. Things are getting dry and dusty, so could use a bit of rain. Still a bit cool, but in an hour or so will beheading for 65 or even 70F.

Enjoying some real coffee. Call me chicken, but I will not even dare get closer than 10 feet away from what some of you misguidely call 'coffee'. Those holey things on the table are something else. YUK!

Yesterday morning we had some strange atmospherics. Drove out in my truck shortly after 8 a.m. and found that somehow the truck radio had switched from the CD I had playing when I shut down and now was on the radio. What caught my attention was that it was an American radio station coming thru perfectly. Just about then a sudden huge bank of really cold fog rolled in and covered the city for an hour or so. We seldom see fog like this. Wierd!.

That is a crazy night for sure. They must get pretty restless being jammed in a drunk tank like that. Glad it went off without a hitch.
