Re:whos tranny upgrades

I couldn't take it any more I had to step in and drop in my .02 cents worth. I did extensive research in the tranny dept with my last truck. My final conclusion was to trade before I had tranny trouble and get a 6 speed. I spoke with Bill at DTT, I spoke with the owner of Suncoast, and BMD concerning ATS. I also work with EDWARD who had just put a complete ATS system in his truck. Here is my honest and unbiased conclusion.
I live in SC. DTT's closest shop to me was in TN approx 3-4 hours away. Bill was very helpful everyone I talked with there was extremely polite and tried to give all the info they could.
If I had to say any thing bad about DTT is that Bill is old school and He likes it done his way. He's done this enough that he know his way works.

The company that impressed me the most and If I had done anything I would have went with SUNCOAST. ;D Here's why They were in Fort Walton Beach FLA. I could have went directly to the Company to have the work done. ( This I liked) He answered every question I had. Lifetime warranty on TC and VB. And did ABSOLUTLY NO NEGATIVE TALKING ABOUT HIS COMPETITION. I cannot tell you how good his product is because I didnt go through with the upgrade, but He's been in the business for a long time also.

Lastly ATS like I said I work with EDWARD he has the full ATS setup. I cannot say anything bad about them but They were just too far to get too.

I leave you with one comment. BE careful you are gonna drop about 4 grand talk to each Company, and lastly GOOD LUCK.

TextNo cheerleading needed, let the trucks speak for themselves. Mine has alot to say from time to time

Okay, so you just replaced your transmission just a couple of months ago (and admitted the clutch was slipping), and another DTT sponsored truck just had his whole tranny replaced after less than a year.... hmmmmmm. Doesn't sound like they're talking so good to me.

Don't assume. First off I am not sponsered.

Tranny was not replaced, the only thing replaced was direct clutch pack and 2nd gear band, because they did show signs of starting to slip, nothing to starting saying need a whole new transmission rebuild. The reason for going into the tranny was to change the TC to more aggressive one, add billet input shaft and front hub, cryoed output shaft, figured I might as well give it a looksie inside. Thats the first time the inside of the tranny was looked at, mainly because it was run dry once due to the cooler lines snapping at the cooler on the highway one night. Lets see, I'd say at least 50+ dyno runs........125 to 145 dragstrip runs, 3 sled pulls and countless streetracing the locals on those tranny parts, not to mention I ran an orginal PowerEdge on the stock tranny for a while............................ naw it don't say much at all.

Next assumption?

We've beaten the pros and cons to each to death, over and over and over and over. :

This one is done. If you want to argue about trannies by insulting each other and throwing accusations, then take it to usenet or email. If you want to have an intelligent discussion about the facts, and act like adults, then feel free to discuss it here.

Obviously, this thread has gone downhill.

Let me say this one more time. READ THE SITE RULES AND UNDERSTAND THEM. I will begin to enforce them with VIGOR from now on. These kinds of threads will not be tolerated here. Why does it take so long for people to get the picture?

CLOSED, thank goodness.
