White face overlays - pull the needles off?

I did a set of white face gauges to my Mustang, had to mark the needles and pop them off, and put them back on. I searched around here for white face gauges, brands, links etc. but didn't see anything about the procedure. How's the difficulty of install in the '97 model? Have to pop the needles off?

Not sure on the Rams but I did them on my old Dakota. I started the truck, let it warm up, draw a pic of where each gauge points for a reference. I did have to oull the pointers the overlay I got came with a small puller, nothing more than a bent piece of metal. When done, start the truck back up and reinstall the needles being careful.

It's pretty simple...you won't have to pull the needles off on all of the gauges, just the speedometer. You can slide the rest of them under the needle into place, but the speedo needs to be pulled.

To reset the needle, I put the back on jackstands and set the cruise at an RPM I knew what the speed was, the put the needle on 'till I got it right.

ONE MORE THING....DON'T PUSH THE NEEDLES DOWN TOO FAR WHEN YOU PUT THEM BACK ON OR THEY WILL STICK!!! I know from experience! Just push them on gently.

Any more questions??
