RoadRunner Torque Converters?

I know about the major Torque Converter manufacturers and have spoken to a few. I have had reservations about spending as much as they want for a torque converter when my truck is stock.
I just purchased a rebuilt torque converter from Roadrunner torque converters and it will be delivered this weekend or the first of next week.
Here is a link to the product

Any opinions?

I spoke with them and they seem to know what they are talking about and have a nice warranty. If I get hosed on this, I plan on just going for a DTT or Goerend converter and installing a new VB or buying a Transgo kit to install. I installed a transgo kit in my 46RE that I have in my 1500 gasser and it works great.

I'd like to hear more about this TC. I'm in the market for one, but can't make up my mind on who I'm going with. When will you have this TC installed? let us know how it goes.

Yeah. Let us know how it goes. Little companies dont get big unless someone tries their products first. I think i found an off brand converter brand new close to me for $550, andf its a triple disk, with a billett converter. And i know its a good converter because i know of a couple people who have run them. I need to just buy it and quit fooling around.

Well the boy that has it is cutting me a good deal on it. Its actually about 750 new, but i kinda know him, and he is going to let me have it fairly cheap.

Well thats pretty cool. Did you find out if it was a triple disk or not? If you like yours and it holds up well I might would be interested in one also. Does he have a website?

Yes. It IS a triple disk, and has a billett cover. I will for sure right a big report on it when i get it, and get it installed. He had one, and said it held up fine until he went to some monstrous injectors from 370's. Im not really planning on ever going crazy with HP so i figure it will do me great for a long time, and the stall speed is much better than stock judging from the truck i rode in that had the single disc. Very little RPM drop when the converter locked. He doesent have a website, and i dont know if the company that makes the converter has one or not. Surely it does, but i cant find it. The brand is Dayco, and im not sure if that is the corect spelling or not. If it werent for this one bieng close, i would buy a Goerend single disc. He priced me his single disc converter or $650. That is as good as i have found. If i had money to burn i probably would buy one from him, but since this is close, and is a decent converter, and is a little cheaper, its kinda hard to pass up. Like i said. I will write a report on it if i get it.

The guy with the single disc converter has a 2001 with an EZ, and 275 injectors i think(or some kind of injectors anyway). Id say it runs a little better than my truck, and his converter holds great, and the stall is nice like i said. I cant wait to get it.

Well I had my RoadRunner TC installed. It is an amazing difference from what I had. My TC that I replaced had no lockup because the clutch was fried. This has a nice lockup which feels good and solid. I am not sure how low the stall speed is though. They told me it was around 1200RPM but it feels quite a bit higher than that. I will try to determine what it is next week with a few quick takeoffs and a powerbrake. The installer commented on how much heavier it is than the stock one he took out.

All in all I am very happy with the new one. I am going to get a new VB in a couple of months to help firm up the shifts a little more. Still looking at the VB's that are out there and trying to decide which one.

Also went to the AMSOIL tranny fluid.

I powerbraked the truck today and the RPM's topped out at about 1700-1800. That seems to be the right stall speed from what I have heard.

My truck is all stock. I didn't ask what HP when I bought it. It has the billet cover and a larger clutch as well as the other improvements listed on the EBAY page. I think it would handle a fair amount with an upgraded VB.

Without the VB, it may be more like the stock converter Dodge should have installed.
